EfCSL signs a collaboration agreement with Engineers without Borders Denmark
Engineers for Change (Sierra Leone) has made a key step towards achieving its aim of working collaboratively with international organisations for the long-term sustainable development of Sierra Leone. This was by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Engineers without Borders Denmark (EWB – DK). The MOU was based on the shared objectives of both organisations wanting to secure the best possible future for the engineering profession and education in Sierra Leone.
Some of the joint initiatives that both organisations are committed to working together on include:
- obtaining laboratory equipment from list provided by the University of Sierra Leone from companies in Denmark, verifying that equipment meets requirements and making arrangement for equipment to be sent to Sierra Leone;
- facilitating lectures and seminars on relevant themes and subjects related to engineering;
- facilitating, planning and organising working parties for the benefit of engineering education in Sierra Leone.
EWB-DK in recent years has been working on water supply and sanitation projects in the east of Sierra Leone.
